John C. Midby

Mr. Midby brings a passion and background in entrepreneurship, and non-profit success, that adds tremendous value to the company.  As the primary person responsible for property acquisition, he actively engages important counterparties to identify and evaluate properties for purchase or development by the company.  John focuses on properties in Seattle, Los Angeles, Portland and San Diego including infill sites for large multi-family midrise and high rise development sites; value-add existing communities; and self-storage sites.  While taking a real estate intensive program (RMPIRE), John Midby’s team won the Best Development Proposal award from the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate.

Midby’s entrepreneurial background includes a film career which included the necessary disciplines for business success: budgeting, market evaluation, and business plan execution. After receiving a Master of Fine Arts from Loyola Marymount with an emphasis in film production, John produced/directed/ wrote feature films, commercials, and documentaries including winners of MTV’s U-Festival, The Cine Eagle, and The Dark Fiction Film Festival.

John opening the first Room 13 International project in the United States, Room 13 Foshay.  The program brings professional artists into the teaching environment to collaborate and mentor young students.  Partners include: ABC-Disney, California Homes Magazine, Creativity Magazine, House of Blues, MOCA, NMPRGlobal PR, TBWA\Chiat\Day, UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, USC School of Cinematic Arts, and USC Roski School of Fine Art.  John also was the Board Chairman of FOCUSFish, a non-profit, aerial arts fitness program that inspires people of all ages and abilities to get strong and healthy, which during his two year tenure the program grew by more than 50% and attracted partners and sponsors that include: The Annenberg Foundation, Cirque du Soleil, COACHART, Constant Contact, Credit Suisse,  Los Angeles Arts Commission, and Target.
